I've been in the kitchen before, braving the spray of dishwater that accompanies Tom's obsessive scouring of pots and plates. I've chopped endless stalks of celery alongside other volunteers, who season meat and mash steaming potatoes. The time of food preparation is characterized by joking, some of us donning less than flattering hairnets, and all of us obeying the commands of Donald, the man who helms the kitchen.
