..."What matters is not your outer appearance - the styling of your hair, the jewelry you wear, the cut of your clothes - but your inner disposition. Cultivate inner beauty, the gentle, gracious kind that God delights in."

...It wouldn't be difficult for the media to identify my imperfections - my nose is too big, my eyebrows are too thick, and my clothes are too plain. Thankfully, what they think doesn't matter to me any longer. A perfect, plastic appearance is not what I wish for. I desire eyes that reveal the depth of my sorrow for the desolate; a mouth that speaks words of encouragement, compassion, and forgiveness instead of negative criticism; a heart of unselfishness, serving others without looking for gratitude or recognition. When I took my eyes off of myself, forgot what the latest trend was, I realized how much more there is to life than me.
